This week at the Channel Islands we battled weather fronts coming through the area, bringing a lot of wind.
Good week of rockfishing in the Channel Islands. Rockfishing has picked up to full speed as both local and outer island boats are catching an abundance of quality Rockfish.
One week of regular trips left in the 2016 season, then we will officially be switching modes to "off-season".

The endless summer fishing bite continues at the Channel Islands. Yellowtail, Bonito and Barracuda are the focus of most the boats. Everything is the same as it was last week with a strong bite at the local islands.

This past weekend's Father's Day Annual 2 Day was a great trip.
We decided to spend one of the days fishing for game fish. There had been rumors of fish caught the day before and all were excited at the prospect of catching a few White Seabass.

We departed today with heavy drizzle, but a nice calm ocean.
As we began our journey to Anacapa Island, we encountered common dolphins within the first mile of our travels. Life is good.

The conditions are ripe and the white seabass plump. Captain Shawn Steward on the Aloha Spirit once again put his anglers on a few lunker white seabass today along with some mix rockfish and barracuda
The white seabass fishing has been amazing at Channel Islands Sportfishing aka CISCOS, they have been bringing in some monsters so they asked me to bring my cameras out on one of their fishing charter trips.
With a little north wind this week slowing things down a little, Capt Shawn on the Aloha Spirit made the decision to speed things up.
