June Gloom makes for a calmer ocean. Rockfishing remains a staple, with boats catching a lot of nice Rockfish and Whitefish. On occasion, the White Seabass have shown.
Spring fishing is here and the fleet usually focuses on straight Rockfish. But this year, fishermen have already caught a bunch of White Seabass , Yellowtail and a few Halibut.
Yellowtail bite slowed down due to high winds across the Channel Islands.
The Yellowtail bite continues as predicted into the month of October.
After much of the week off because of weather, primarily high winds, we resumed our fishing on Saturday. Rock fishing was outstanding.
Those elusive white seabass made a bit of a showing this week and has created a bit of excitement.

Outstanding fishing across the board here today at the beautiful Channel Islands. With 12 boats out and 303 anglers with their lines soaking, the counts look great!
