This past week was one of the best, if not the best, week of fishing yet this year for White Seabass Fishing. Both local island and outer island boats got into a wide open White Seabass bite catching limits or very close to limits.
Spring fishing is here and the fleet usually focuses on straight Rockfish. But this year, fishermen have already caught a bunch of White Seabass , Yellowtail and a few Halibut.
Rockfishing continues to be excellent and the White Seabass showed up again.
Early season game fish continue to bite at the Channel Islands even with the cool sea temperatures.
White Seabass fishing is ON! Boats from all over the area have been filling up because of the bite, and while the limit is only one White Seabass at the moment, that's not stopping anyone.

White Seabass are not gone like we thought as we had a full day boat catch limits of White Seabass and 55 Yellowtail for only 11 anglers. We are still catching Calico Bass, Barracuda, Yellowtail, and even a few Halibut at the local islands.
Fishing has remained solid for all kinds of species. We are seeing a lot of Barracuda and Calico Bass in our counts as of late, with of course, the Yellowtail and White Seabass headlining the show.
As we enter the month of July, the game fish bite seems to be holding steady, though towards the end of the weekend, boat pressure slowed it down.
