Fishing was slow due to weather this week

WHOPPERS AND FISHING REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 10/04/2015

Whoppers of the Week:
1) Tom Chaparro from Oxnard caught a 145lb Striped Marlin on the Aloha Spirit.
2) Hector Fonseca from Oxnard weighed in a 8.4lb Lobster at our Official IGFA Weigh Station.
3) Vaughn Dotsy from Ventura caught a 26lb Yellowtail on the Gentleman.

Report:
It was a tough week for the fisherman here at the Channel Islands. Not that fishing was poor but the weather was either too windy or it was raining. In fact, there was only a couple of day’s we got boats out.

For the few days on the water we did managed to put together some good counts, the Yellowtail bite was good while the Bonito and Calico bite was excellent. We even had a Striped Marlin caught on one of our full day boats.

On another note, Lobster opened this past Saturday and early reports were positive.

The upcoming week shows more promise so stay tuned as we expect a much better fishing week ahead!
