Great Day on the White Seabass

The Mirage was out on a overnight outer island trip fishing Monday, May 21st. The open party trip consisted of 22 anglers. They had their first bites of game fish this morning, and ended up with 14 white seabass and 2 California Halibut. While fishing the northern Channel Islands most of the fish were taken on dropper loop rigs and squid. The fish ranged from 12 to 25 lbs and the halibut weighed 21 and 30 lbs. The rest of the day was spent rock fishing, and the day ended with totals of 143 quality rockfish and 6 Lingcod as well.
It looks as things are starting to straighten out and we are on coarse for a banner year. The Mirage has open party trips scheduled along with the rest of the Channel Islands fleet which are posted on the schedule page of this website.
